Sherlock Holmes is a pipe tobacco made after 19th century recipe, of the style Sherlock Holmes might have smoked. Burley and Virginia, so there’s nothing special in the tobacco used. It’s quite mild for a pipe tobacco, with a very mild sweet aromatization. It is not my favourite tobacco, but it is nevertheless a good smoking experience now and then. Unfortunately, a couple of days ago I noticed that I had forgotten the tin open, and the tobacco had dried. I had to re-humidify the tobacco by leaving a wet piece of toilet paper into the tin overnight. Re-humidified, the tobacco seems to have lost some of its aroma. It tastes more of smoke and less of tobacco. A satisfying smoking experience, anyway.
Since this was intended as an everyday smoke, Bonus Red is a good enough rolling tobacco.
